Addo Elephant National Park is the 3rd largest National Park in South Africa, home to the iconic most Southern, mostly tuskless African Elephant herds. Our Accommodation
Enjoy one of our 16 stylish free-standing thatched chalets with luxurious bathrooms, some with wooden decks and private Splash Pools. Each Chalet is private and offers breathtaking views of citrus orchards and the countryside. Begin your day with the delightful melodies of chirping birds, accompanied by the majestic calls of the fish eagles resonating from the flowing Sundays River below. Guests are also welcome to take leisurely walks through our scenic Eco-Reserve. Afterwards, cool off in one of our two pools, one in the Adults Only Wing, Rooms 1-9, and the other in the child-friendly wing, rooms 10-16. Relax under your own veranda or in any of the other cosy public areas with sundowners, and savour a candlelit gourmet dinner or themed evening, choosing your wine from our private collection in the underground cellar.
Hitgeheim Country Lodge is divided into two sections to cater to different needs. The adults-only wing provides a peaceful retreat for couples or solo travellers seeking a tranquil getaway with their own swimming pool. Meanwhile, the family-friendly wing is perfect for those travelling with children, offering a comfortable and welcoming environment for all, also with their own swimming pool for all to enjoy.

"We absolutely loved it at Hitgeheim"
The rooms are very big with a terrace overlooking the stunning nature of the area. The bathroom hosts and indoor and outdoor shower
where you can enjoy the views first thing in the morning.
We also did the Addo Park Safari via Hitgeheim and it was great. We would absolutely recommend this over going on our own. The staff is amazing. Super friendly and courteous. The food was delicious. We would definitely recommend this place for a great Safari stay.
